Everybody’s favorite Swedish psychedelic rockers Dungen have released a track from their upcoming album 4, which is technically their 5th album, but maybe they count differently in Sweden. The track is called “Satt Att Se” (which an online Swedish-English translator says means “Was to See”) and you can listen to it in 96kbps glory at their MySpace page. (For fans of: Jimi Hendrix, Beck, magical unicorns)
On the lighter side (and crossing the border to Norway), via Pitchfork comes a link to Pardon My Freedom, who has an mp3 of the new Annie single “Songs Remind Me of You.” This song reminds me of New Order. Her new album, Don’t Stop, is supposed to be out soon, but who knows. (For fans of: “Blue Monday,” Kylie Minogue, chewing gum)
After the jump: is midnight too early for madness, and would you let these monkeys operate on you?
The Chemical Brothers are still plugging away, which is nice to see; upon reflection, their last album, We Are the Night, was better than I first thought, which isn’t saying much, but still. They’re continuing with their practice of releasing white labels under the name “Electronic Battle Weapon” in anticipation of a new album, and Data Sapiens has an mp3 of the single, “Midnight Madness.” (For fans of: Daft Punk, My Bloody Valentine, robot voices)
What’s that, Riffers? Not enough ape action in any of these tracks for you? Well, check out the new Bloc Party track “Mercury,” whose astrology-referencing lyrics were somehow interpreted by the video directors as a cue for a short piece about gorillas doing medical experiments. The Lemur Blog has an mp3 if you don’t think you can handle that. (For fans of: The Cure, Roni Size Reprazent, horoscopes)
